Controlsoft
Engineering has long experience of designing
database applications. Nowadays they are with few exceptions
integrated within customers' overall information schema. Simpler
projects are programmed in Microsoft Access. Sophisticated databases
require SQL Server, or its variant Industrial SQL Server, which
is optimised for the collection and compact storage of large quantities
of plant data. Both solutions utilise modern client/server technology.
Recent database developments have concentrated on the middle ground
between plant control systems on the factory floor and the corporate
ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP/R3.
